Mauni Tech builds emotionally adaptive VR therapeutic environments for mental health and addiction care clinics. Instead of talking about triggers, cravings, or anxiety — clients experience and train through them.
"Waiting lists are growing. Clinicians are overloaded. Traditional therapy cannot scale. We are building the operating system for the next generation of clinical care."

Watch on YouTube ↗At the heart of Mauni Tech is a radical reframe: VR therapy should not simulate the external world — it should simulate the client's inner world.
The Epicurean Garden is a personalised virtual environment that mirrors each client's emotional landscape and evolves in real time based on journaling, therapy sessions, biometric signals, and in-VR behaviour. It is the first VR therapy space built from the inside out.
Alongside the Garden, clients engage with Mauni Characters — AI-driven therapeutic avatars for grounding, skills practice, role-modelling, and non-scripted dialogue. Clinicians observe everything through a real-time dashboard that provides insight unavailable through any traditional modality.
Deployed on the Meta Quest platform. Built on Unity and the Evrience XR engine — developed in-house by co-founder Rick Evenhuis over eight years of clinical VR practice.
A living digital environment reflecting the user's emotional and behavioural state. Evolves dynamically — inputs from journaling, therapy, and VR training continuously reshape the space, making psychological change visible as it happens.
A personalised VR space built from the client's inner world — not external scenarios. The Garden evolves based on reflections, emotional check-ins, biometric signals, and in-VR behaviour. Recovery becomes visible as the environment transforms.
Emotionally attuned AI-driven avatars with predefined clinical scripts and strict safety guardrails — supporting grounding, skills training, resilience building, and therapeutic dialogue in individual and group settings.
Real-time insight into emotional patterns, behavioural responses, and treatment progress — without relying solely on clients' verbal reports. Therapists see change as it unfolds, not only in retrospect during a weekly session.
Every AI capability in Mauni VR is purpose-built for the clinical context — not a general-purpose model deployed without constraint. Ethics, transparency, and safety are built in at every layer.
AI-powered emotionally attuned companions with predefined clinical scripts and strict guardrails — supporting grounding, skills training, and role modelling within boundaries set by clinical protocol. Non-scripted conversation within a governed safety envelope.
AI aggregates and interprets engagement and emotional patterns across sessions — giving clinicians a new window into the client's inner world and identifying meaningful trends that conversation alone cannot surface.
AI interpretation of heart rate, gaze behaviour, and voice tone refines emotional insight in real time — enabling the Garden and Characters to adapt to the client's actual physiological state, not just their verbal report.
A browser-based AI assessment tool for intake — building the client's baseline psychological profile before their first VR session, enabling the Garden to begin its personalisation from day one.
Mauni VR has passed all Meta Quest assessments, technical and security requirements. Deployed and in active use — with clinical feedback from patients and practitioners shaping every iteration.

MAUNi Tech · Traction Report · April 2026
VR hardware has reached clinical viability. AI enables genuinely adaptive treatment. Healthcare systems face relentless pressure to improve outcomes while reducing costs. Provider appetite for digital innovation has shifted permanently post-pandemic. The conditions for a new care category have converged.
Global mental health, digital MH, and VR healthcare ecosystem — growing to €130B long-term as immersive care becomes standard of care.
Target regions plus VR-ready clinics and addiction and mental health providers across EU, UK, and US with adoption infrastructure in place.
Realistic capture from 50–100 clinics under subscription within 5 years. €20–30M ARR upside in the aggressive scenario.
Competitors simulate the external world — social settings, shopping centres, traffic. Mauni Tech simulates the client's inner world: the mind, the psyche, the emotional landscape. That distinction drives deeper engagement, faster skill acquisition, and more durable outcomes. It is not a feature difference. It is a category difference.
Initial: Netherlands and South Africa (existing clinical base) and US — Tennessee trial active now. Expansion 2027: UK, broader EU, US scale. Long-term: global rollout via clinical partnerships and strategic distribution channels. 15,000–20,000 relevant organisations worldwide, primarily in Europe and the US.
MAUNi Tech is in its validation and early go-to-market phase. Pre-seed funding finalises product development, converts active pilots to paying customers, and establishes early market presence across the Netherlands, UK, and US.
Pre-seed. 12–15 months runway. 40% product development, 40% sales hire, 10% operations & compliance, 10% hardware and logistics.
Accelerate clinic acquisition. Enterprise sales capability. Deepen AI and regulatory infrastructure for EU and US scaling.
International scaling into US, EU, and UK markets. Adjacent markets: weight loss, corporate mental health, and academic programmes.
Alpha SaaS subscriptions only. Total spend €147K into product and pilot infrastructure. Pre-revenue by design.
Clinic subscription conversion. Implementation fees. First partnership revenue. Pre-seed capital deployed.

Kokorozashi — the Robot of Love — is MAUNi's guiding principle. Technology is not the mission. The mission is restored souls, stronger communities, and lives lived better than well.
Adoption is driven by solving real treatment problems — not by the technology itself. Clinics engage faster when the product fits existing workflows. We position Mauni VR as a clinical tool first. The VR is how we deliver the solution.
The platform is built by professionals with backgrounds in addiction treatment, recovery coaching, and immersive technology — and informed by first-hand recovery insight embedded into every design and clinical decision.
Every major capability has been co-created with clinicians, clients, and recovery professionals in active clinical environments. The field shapes the product. The product serves the field. This is how trust is built.
Every AI application in Mauni VR operates with strict safety guardrails, transparent intent, and privacy-by-design architecture. The AI should be felt, not seen — a quiet intelligence behind a deeply human therapeutic experience.
Clinical expertise. Lived experience in recovery. Eight years of professional VR development. The founding team carries the exact combination of competencies this problem demands — and has built the track record to prove it.
Paula leads vision, partnerships, and clinical integration across the MAUNi ecosystem. Her background spans economics and mental health care — with extensive hands-on experience in addiction treatment, systemic case management, and the commercialisation of healthcare training programmes across multiple countries.
She founded and scaled a multi-entity recovery ecosystem operating across healthcare, training, and international partnerships — working closely with insurers, regulatory frameworks, and clinical care pathways across the Netherlands, UK, and South Africa.
"Relentless to the finish — purpose in action."
Rick is the technical architect of Mauni VR. A psychologist by training with over eight years building immersive therapeutic environments — combining clinical insight with the engineering depth to deliver what most VR health startups cannot: a platform designed by someone who understands both what happens in therapy and how to build for it.
He founded and operated a private VR therapy practice and built Evrience — the proprietary XR framework and suite of therapeutic environments that forms the technical foundation of Mauni VR.
"Imagine without limits — build with focus."
MAUNi Tech is supported by an international network of clinicians, developers, and recovery experts — with contributors across Europe, the US, and Africa. Expertise spans addiction treatment, coaching, AI, and business development, supporting product validation and market expansion simultaneously.
MAUNi Tech operates within a wider ecosystem of clinical platforms, coaching and training organisations, and investment partnerships — each connected by the same mission and the same values.
